The theme for 2019's Ubisoft Game Lab Competition was "Spectacle" with heavy emphasis on incorporating interactivity between the player(s) and viewer(s). We opted for a futuristic, over-the-top, competitive racing TV show.

It's a sidescroller with a tiltable camera that is slightly looking down on the player built in the span of 10 weeks.

To really hammer in the televised aspect of our theme, we've opted to add animated screen shaders. The arrows also doubled as a way to direct the players in the right direction of the race.

The Lethal Rush team is a mix of 4 artists from NAD-Université de Québec à Chicoutimi and 4 programmers from the Polytechnique Montréal. Our sound designer joined us at a later date to add some life to the game.
